After 30 fantastic years in news and current affairs journalism, then communications, Walk Talk Taste is something of a passionate detour for me.
What excites me about our experiences is how they merge everything I love: people, great local food and wine, travel, stories, fun, fresh air and the Margaret River community.
After working in Victoria, the Kimberley and overseas, my husband Ben and I knew Margaret River was the place to continue raising our three children. With family connections to the area going back some decades, we made our final move here in 2012.
We now live just south of town, where we supplement our access to incredible regional produce with our own small vineyard, vegetable garden and free range chooks.
Margaret River is a truly world-class food destination. Saturday’s Farmers’ Market and regular food and wine events are part of the joy of living here.
I wanted to deliver that same sense of discovery and locality for the thousands who visit Margaret River every week in our town-based walking food tours. It’s been a challenging few years for tourism, as it has for so many industries, so we’ve adapted the model to focus on what we do best: delivering outstanding personal service.
On the back of that reputation, we’ve developed our immersive gourmet glamping experience and responded to the desire for bespoke travel, with more flexible group tours and multi-day itineraries.
For me, Walk Talk Taste had to embody everything I’d enjoyed in my own extensive world travels: a warm and genuine welcome, regional gourmet specialties, depth of local knowledge, new friends and plenty of fun. In short, an authentic, memorable, high-value experience.
So, from my family to yours, welcome to Margaret River! I can’t wait to walk, talk and taste with you.
